Four-Day Chitral Festival Inaugurated
A four-day Chitral festival began on Wednesday inaugurated by district administration officials in the town.
A large number of people witnessed the inaugural ceremony at the Parade Ground.
Teams from different areas and departments are taking part in cricket, volleyball and football matches.
Various cultural and musical events are also being organized.
Opening the festival, additional deputy commissioner finance and planning Noor Akbar Khan stressed the importance of sports and said the district administration was providing all-out supports for promotion of healthy activities.
School children on the occasion presented national songs and tableaus. The festival will conclude on March 18.
It is to be noted that Chitral festival is being celebrated after a long time.
The festival will have volleyball, football, cricket, tug of war, polo, Naat Khwani, recitation and poetry competitions.
According to the media reports, nine teams in volleyball and football, nine teams in cricket, two tug-of-war teams and two polo teams are participating in the festival.
The main objective of celebrating Chitral festival is to involve the young generation in positive activities.
