The Christian Community Filed A Petition To Change The Date Given By The President
A petition has been filed in the Supreme Court on behalf of a person named Samuel Pyara, in which it has been argued that the rights of the Christian community are also connected with the general elections in Punjab and KP.
The petitioner said that the date given by the President of Pakistan for the general elections in both provinces should be changed, April 9 is the Christian community’s religious festival Easter day and the Christian community of both the provinces will be busy in the Easter festival.
In the petition, it was requested that the day of Good Friday on April 7 is also a holy day, therefore general elections should not be held on April 7 or 9 in both the provinces, keeping in view the rights of Christians, the petitioner should be automatically made a party to the notice.
