Pakistan Day’ celebrated across the country with great enthusiasm
On completion of 83 years since presentation of Pakistan Resolution, ‘Pakistan Day’ is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across country with determination to ensure development, prosperity and strong defense of country.
Day started with a gun salute, 31 in federal capital while 21 in provincial capitals.
On Pakistan Day, changing of guards at mausoleum of Allama Muhammad Iqbal while the grand ceremony of parade of armed forces will be held at President’s House, Islamabad.
Decision to hold traditional parade on a limited scale was made under austerity policy.
Regarding Pakistan Day, Pakistan Air Force has said in its special message that on occasion of Pledge of Allegiance Day, Shaheens of Pakistan Air Force saluted patriotism of entire Pakistani nation and reiterated commitment that every soldier of Pakistan Air Force is always ready to protect defense, security and sovereignty of Pakistan and will not hesitate to make any sacrifice for integrity of country.
It should be remembered that resolution passed in Lahore on March 23, 1940 later proved to be forerunner of independence.
In meeting of Sindh Muslim League in 1938, idea of a separate state for Muslims was presented, this idea was accepted by majority of participants, later AK Fazlul Haq proposed its implementation.
Resolution presented at Minto Park, Lahore on 23 March 1940 stated that until Muslims got an independent state they would not be bound to obey any law of India.
Foundation of Pakistan was laid on it which came into being on August 14, 1947.
