Peshawar High Court: Order to include Three Languages in Census
Peshawar High Court has ordered to include three languages in census 2023.
The petitioner had requested to include three languages in census, on which Peshawar High Court has ordered three languages of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gavari, Torwali and Gujri, to be included in census.
On plea of petitioner, Statistics Authority expressed no objection, on which Peshawar High Court accepted writ petition.
According to reports, Gauri is spoken in Kalam and Swat, Rawali is spoken in Bahrain and Kohistan, while Gujri is spoken in Chitral and Malakand.
The reports claimed that Department of Statistics, a digital census is being conducted for first time, which will increase economic activities
