US visit Army Chief General Asim Munirs emphasis on immediate ceasefire in Gaza
Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir highlighted Pakistans perspective on regional security, international terrorism and the importance of maintaining strategic stability in South Asia during an exclusive interaction with prominent American think tanks and members of the media.
The Army Chief stressed the need to resolve the Kashmir issue according to the aspirations of the Kashmiri people and the resolutions of the United Nations.
General Asim Munir said that Kashmir is an internationally recognized conflict and no unilateral action can change the nature of this conflict against the wishes of the Kashmiri people.
The Army Chief also stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, humanitarian aid and the implementation of a two-state solution for lasting peace in the region.
He said that Pakistan has been fighting against international terrorism for decades to ensure regional stability and global peace and security.
Pakistan has rendered unparalleled services and sacrifices in the war against terrorism and the people of Pakistan With full support, this war will continue until the end of the last terrorist.
The Army Chief also highlighted that Pakistan is keen to expand its strong ties with the US through long-term bilateral relations.
