Peshawar, anti-polio campaign started, more than 18 lakh children will be vaccinated
A 7-day anti-polio campaign has started in Peshawar district. Commissioner Peshawar Muhammad Zubair inaugurated.
On this occasion, Commissioner Peshawar Division said that anti-polio campaign is being conducted in 286 union councils of the division, including 103 of Peshawar, 52 of Nowshera, 52 of Khyber, 50 of Charsadda and 29 of Mohmand district.
According to sources, during the anti-polio campaign, a total of more than 18 lakh children have been set as a target of vaccination against polio.
Commissioner Peshawar Division Muhammad Zabeer said that 6,285 mobile and 380 transit teams have been formed for the campaign.
Commissioner Peshawar Division Muhammad Zubair said that 15885 security personnel will be on polio duty to protect the polio teams. 395 fix points and 380 transit points have been created for the national anti-polio campaign.
He said that for success of the anti-polio campaign, efforts have been made to convince the refusing parents through Jirga according to Pakhtun traditions, due to which the number of refusing parents is gradually decreasing and thanks to coordinated efforts, the number of refusing parents in Mohmand tribal district has been reduced
