General Elections: Federal Cabinet approves army deployment
The caretaker federal cabinet has approved the deployment of the army for the general elections to be held on February 8 across the country.
Sources say that the army will act as a quick response force in sensitive areas.
The federal cabinet has also set up a committee to reform the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR).
On behalf of the Ministry of Interior, the summary for the deployment of the army in the general elections was sent to the Cabinet today.
Sources say that the Election Commission had asked for 2 lakh 77 thousand military personnel, Pakistan Army, Rangers and FC personnel will be posted in the general elections.
