Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: Actions against cultural ritual Ghag
Caretaker Minister for Amalgamated Districts Aamir Abdullah has written a letter to the Commissioners and DPOs in relation to the measures taken against the outdated custom of Ghag in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In the text of the letter, it is said that the district administration should take strict measures to eliminate the outdated custom of Ghag, it is cruel to forcibly prevent a woman from marrying in the outdated custom of Ghag.
According to the text of the letter, obstructing the marriage of a woman by firing in front of the house is a crime, this crime is non-bailable under Section 7 of the GAG Act and is punishable with 7 years imprisonment and a fine of 5 lakhs.
Caretaker Minister Amir Abdullah says that this crime is mostly not reported, verbal complaints are often reaching me.
