Polling for the 12th general election of Pakistan continues
The polling process across the country started at 8 am which will continue till 5 pm without any interruption. Elections are being held in a total of 44 National Assembly and provincial constituencies in Lahore. Voters are exercising their right to vote in 14 constituencies of the National Assembly. Voters are casting their votes in 30 constituencies of the provincial assembly. 1079 candidates are contesting for 44 National and Provincial Assembly seats in Lahore. 266 candidates are trying their luck on 14 seats of the National Assembly, while 813 candidates are competing on 30 seats of the Provincial Assembly. A maximum of 27 candidates are contesting on NA-120. The number of candidates in NA 118 is the lowest at 18 as compared to other constituencies. Maximum 46 candidates are contesting on PP 161. The lowest number of candidates on PP 150 is only 13.
68 lakh 5 thousand 895 voters will exercise their right to vote in Lahore. 36 lakh 36 thousand 253 male voters will cast their votes from Lahore. 32 lakh 21 thousand 842 female voters from Lahore will vote. A maximum of 735 thousand 251 voters will cast their votes on NA-118. 3 lakh 10 thousand 116 voters will cast their votes on NA 124. PP 147 is the largest provincial constituency of Lahore. 3 lakh 68 thousand 998 voters will exercise their right to vote on PP 147. At least 1 lakh 36 thousand 963 voters will cast their votes from PP 167. 4 thousand 354 polling stations have been established in Lahore. Among them, 1538 polling stations have been established for men while 1499 polling stations have been established for women. 1319 polling stations have been established for men and women jointly
