The Election Commission rejected the allegations of rigging
The Election Commission of Pakistan has strongly rejected the allegations of rigging in the general elections held on February 8 across the country.
In the announcement issued by the Election Commission, it has been stated that the Commission does not deny the incidents but there are relevant forums for redressal, immediate decisions are being taken on the complaints.
The statement said that despite the difficulties and problems, they managed to keep the electoral process peaceful and orderly on February 8.
The election was a huge operation which was successfully completed and worked satisfactorily in the offices of ROs.
According to the statement, presiding officers were unable to send electronic data due to disruption of mobile services, routine coordination and transportation was adversely affected by disruption of mobile services.
It was further informed that in 2018, the first result of the election was received at 4 am the next day, this time the first result was received at 2 pm, except for some constituencies, the election results were completed in one and a half days.
The statement said that in the 2018 elections, it took 3 days to complete the results, the delay in the results in some constituencies has not benefited or harmed any particular political party.
