After the discovery of large reserves of natural gas in North Waziristan, the journey of prosperity began in the region.
According to the details, North Waziristan is on the path of development after the restoration of peace through the efforts of the Pakistan Army.
Shivah project started in 2016, in 2021 Mari Petroleum Company started drilling Shivah number one, in May 2022 large natural gas reserves were discovered in this well.
In March 2023, plans for the Early Production Facility were launched, under which the pipeline is fast-tracked to provide uninterrupted gas supply to the people of the region.
These development projects worth Rs 850 million include activation of Rural Health Centers at Spinwam and Shivwa, repair and activation of water schemes, solar plants, mosques and madrasas, student scholarship programmes, mobile health units and distribution of free rations.
A package worth around Rs 600 million is also planned by MPCL and CNGPL in 2023 and 2024.
Workers of Mari Petroleum Company Limited say that the first gas discovery was made here in 2022 and the second gas discovery in January 2024.
However, the project has the capacity to produce 100 million cubic feet of gas per day.
