The threat of TTP should be considered the same as ISIS - Pakistan
Pakistan has told international negotiators that there is no difference between the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Daesh.
The region and other countries see ISIS as an extraordinary threat while they see TTP as Pakistans problem. In this context, it becomes difficult for Pakistan to get the required international support against TTP.
In this regard, a diplomatic source confirmed that he was recently briefed by Pakistani authorities about a possible nexus between the TTP and ISIS.
"Pakistan has made the international community aware that both the TTP and Daesh are one and that they are working together," confirmed a source familiar with the ongoing backdoor diplomacy in an effort to garner international support against the Taliban regime.
Therefore, no distinction should be made between the two.
Pakistan is hoping that the international community will not ignore the activities of TTP.
On the other hand, according to sources, Pakistan wants international countries to treat the threat of TTP in the same way as they do in the case of ISIS.
Pakistan is trying to convince the international community that Afghanistan is once again becoming a "hub of terrorists".
