2 thousand 836 pages and sites spreading unrest on social media were blocked, general elections and institutions were targeted in 17 political trends on Twitter.
According to the details, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has compiled a report on social media trends over a period of 3 months, in which the authorities said that 2836 pages and sites that spread unrest on social media have been blocked.
CTD officials said that 2 new organizations active on social media were also identified, 17 political trends on Twitter are sensitive, general elections and institutions were targeted in political trends.
In the report, it was said that anti-national trending on social media was mostly done by people sitting abroad, the Punjab police and high-ranking personalities were unnecessarily criticized in the trending, and 9 trends on communal basis were identified.
According to the authorities, 10 trends related to nationalism, Balochistan and Gwadar were monitored, action will be taken against those spreading unrest through the trend.
