Decision to impose fixed tax on parlors and marriage halls in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to impose a fixed tax on beauty parlors and wedding halls, while credit card payments at restaurants and hotels will be taxed at 13 percent instead of 15 percent.
According to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority spokesperson, the decision to impose fixed taxes instead of percentage on beauty parlors and marriage halls across the province states that marriage halls and beauty parlors will submit monthly taxes to the keeper according to their chosen system.
According to the decision, wedding halls and beauty parlors will be divided into different categories based on their size and volume of business, on which different fixed rates of sales tax on services will be applicable.
Adviser on Finance Muzamil Aslam said that the decision will be implemented after taking all the stakeholders into confidence, but after the decision, if any business person or organization is found involved in tax evasion, strict legal action will be taken.
Credit card payments at restaurants and hotels will be taxed at 13 percent instead of 15 percent.
Repoets says that for all these measures, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sales Tax on Services Act 2022 will be amended.
