Two-phase anti-polio campaign launched in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
The two-phase anti-polio campaign in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has started today.
According to the sources, Provincial Health Minister Syed Qasim Ali Shah inaugurated the polio campaign in the province by administering polio drops to the child.
In this regard, it has been informed that the anti-polio campaign is being conducted in two phases across the province
The first phase will be till May 3 in which anti-polio campaign is being conducted in 14 complete districts and 8 partial districts.
In the second phase, an anti-polio campaign will be conducted in five districts from May 2 to May 6.
Health department sources say that during the two campaigns, more than 44 lakh 23 thousand children under 5 years of age will be given polio vaccine.
21,000 teams and 33,000 security personnel have been deployed for the two-phase anti-polio campaign.
It should be remembered that in 2023, 4 polio cases have not been reported this year.
Provincial Minister of Health Syed Qasim Ali Shah has said that there is a special request to the parents of children under 5 years of age to protect their children from life-long disabilities and must give them vaccinations against infectious diseases like polio.
