In the meeting, solidarity and determination to maintain the values of peace, security and development in Pakistan was also expressed.
In the meeting, the Army Chief congratulated Asif Zardari on assuming the post of President and Commander of the Armed Forces, Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir expressed his best wishes for the successful tenure of the President, while on the other hand, the Army Chief warned the President against terrorism.
Army Chief General Asim Munir also highlighted the operational preparations against traditional threats in the meeting and informed the President about the role of the army in development projects including Balochistan, KP.
Moreover, the appreciating the exemplary role of the armed forces of Pakistan, the President said that the services of the army have been of key importance in protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the state.
The President said that the blood of the martyrs will always be a symbol of the perseverance and strength of the Pakistani nation.
The President also paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs and their families.
