Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir had a telephonic contact with the Chief of General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Baqeri, in the conversation, the Army Chief expressed his deep sorrow over the death of the Iranian President, Foreign Minister and other important officials in the helicopter accident.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Pakistan Army (ISPR), Army General Syed Asim Munir had a telephonic contact with the Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Baqeri.
Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir said that late President Ibrahim Raisi and Foreign Minister Amir Abdullah were true friends of Pakistan, the loss of both leaders and others is truly sad and irreparable.
General Syed Asim Munir further said that Pakistan has historical, cultural and fraternal relations with Iran, the armed forces of Pakistan and Iran have always stood together.
The Chief of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Baqeri, expressed his gratitude to the Army Chief and Pakistan for their condolences.
