Anti-polio campaign launched in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Peshawar
An anti-polio campaign has been launched in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar.
During the campaign, more than 3.5 million children will be administered polio drops.
Reports says that more than 26 thousand police personnel have been deployed for the security of the polio teams.
According to the officials of the Health Department, Peshawar, an Anti-polio campaign has started in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The Health Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has inaugurated a campaign to give polio drops to children in the Police Service Hospital.
During the campaign, more than 35 lakh children will be given polio drops.
However, 18 thousand 319 polio workers are participating in anti-polio campaign.
Moreover, complete polio campaign is being conducted in Peshawar, Kohat, Khyber, Bannu, Lucky Marwat, DI Khan, Swabi, Upper Dir and Swat.
While Partial polio campaign is being conducted in Mardan, Charsadda, Nowshera, Upper and Lower Dir, Upper and Lower Chitral, Haripur, Malakand, Mansehra, Mohmand, Buner, Hangu, Karam.
Polio teams have been appointed in Afghan refugee camps, Pak-Afghan border and union councils, which will administer anti-polio drops to the children of Afghan refugees.
It should be noted that the number of polio cases in 2023 will be four, while no case of polio has been reported this year
