Two soldiers injured in Khyber landmine blast
Two soldiers were injured when a landmine planted on main Bara-Tirah Road exploded during routine bomb detection exercise on Sunday morning, sources in region said.
They said that an eight-member bomb disposal squad was conducting an explosive detection exercise in Ghaibi Neeka locality when they spotted an improvised explosive device planted on road in Mammal Pati area.
They said that BD squad immediately took cover off road to avoid any casualty, but two of them, identified as Tahir and Iftikhar, received minor injuries when they were hit by the IED shrapnel.
Incident was then conveyed to all security check posts.
Afterwards, a sensitization exercise initiated in area by security forces to ward off occurrence of a similar incident.
