Polio campaign in 5 divisions including Peshawar, set a target of 74 lakh 78 thousand
During the five-day campaign consisting of two phases in different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, the target of immunizing more than 74 lakh 78 thousand children of the age of five years has been set. In this regard, the campaign has been started from October 2. In the first phase, 63 lakh 62 thousand 895 children under five years of age will be administered polio vaccine in Peshawar, Kohat, Mardan, Malakand and Hazara divisions, while the second phase will be between October 9 and 13, in which anti-polio campaign will be conducted in Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan divisions. And in these districts, 11 lakh 16 thousand 81 children are targeted to be vaccinated against polio.
During the anti-polio campaign, it is planned to administer polio drops to children up to five years of age in the Afghan refugee camps. 34 thousand 551 teams have been formed for the campaign, including 31 thousand 151 mobile teams, 1 thousand 953 fixed teams and 1 thousand 447 transit teams. Apart from this, 7,777 area in-charges have also been appointed for monitoring, while around 54,567 police personnel will also be on duty throughout the province during the campaign.
