Afghan Transit Trade: An important decision of the Government of Pakistan
The government has imposed a 10 percent processing fee on certain commercial goods imported into Afghanistan under Afghan transit trade.
According to the details, taking an important step to prevent the illegal arrival of goods in Pakistan, the government has decided to impose 10% processing fee on goods imported under the Afghan Transit Trade Agreement.
The aim of this measure is to prevent smuggling and impose regular taxes.
According to the SRO issued by FBR in this regard, the commercial goods imported into Afghanistan under Afghan transit trade are confectionery, chocolate, footwear, mechanical and electrical machinery, blankets and home textiles and garments.
However, the processing fee of 10% is levied as per the value, as per reports.
