Hundreds of years old Parsi cemetery in Peshawar restored to its original condition
Graves of the 18th century AD are still present in the several hundred-year-old Parsi cemetery located on Sunhari Masjid Road in Peshawar Cantt. There are inscriptions on the graves in three languages. In this heritage of historical importance, there are more than 70 graves and Caretaker House has been secured.
Some time ago, the condition of this cemetery was unspeakable, however, under the supervision of Station Commander Brigadier Mohammad Usman under the direction of Corps Commander Peshawar Lt. Gen. Hasan Azhar Hayat, the work of restoring this ancient cemetery to its original condition has been completed.
The Kent administration has rehabilitated the cemetery covering 1.9 hectare (15 kanals) and completed the construction of the boundary wall, lighting, park and extensive parking along with the completion of the building at the rear of the cemetery and bore water. So that the needs of water supply to the plants in the park adjacent to the cemetery can be met
