Apart from this, the number of malaria cases in a week ranges from 200 to 300 in the districts of Kirk, Tank, Nowshera, Charsadda, Bitgram and Kohistan Lower. Majority of malaria patients are women.
The report said that in the last one week, Dir Lower, Swabi, Abbottabad, Peshawar, Bannu and DI Khan are sensitive districts in terms of typhoid. A total of 450 typhoid cases have been confirmed in these districts during a week.
According to health experts, the districts where malaria and typhoid cases have been reported are due to poor sanitation, drainage and non-availability of clean drinking water.
