The process of repatriation of Afghan citizens residing illegally in Pakistan continues and so far a total of 67 thousand 980 Afghan refugees have returned to their homeland.
Afghan citizens are returning to their country through Torkham and Chaman border. On October 24, 3 thousand 185 Afghan citizens returned to their country.
According to the details,670 men, 593 women and 1922 children are among the 3 thousand 185 Afghan citizens who left yesterday while 274 families returned to their homeland in 103 vehicles for departure to Afghanistan.
It should be noted that the federal government has given a deadline of October 31 to the illegally staying foreigners to leave Pakistan, after which many families have returned to Afghanistan.
According to Faghan Commissionerate Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the number of registered Afghan refugees in the province is 1 million while 775 thousand Afghans entered Pakistan illegally.
However, more than 300,000 of them are Afghan citizens who came to Pakistan after the establishment of the Taliban government. while 3 thousand 911 Afghans have been found involved in various crimes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa this year.
The number of Afghans residing in Balochistan is said to be around eight and a half lakh, according to an estimate, two and a half lakh of them are residing illegally.
