Changes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Urban Policy, the province was divided into three zones
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has changed urban policy and divided the province into three zones, southern districts, central districts and Malakand and Hazara divisions have been made into separate zones.
The policy aims to provide strategic level direction and road map to governments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to create inclusive opportunities for individuals, businesses and communities.
In urban centres, social and economic mobility is enhanced while ensuring environmental sustainability.
The central zone includes Peshawar and Mardan divisions, while the southern zone includes Kohat, Bannu and Dera Ismail Khan Divisions.
All the provisions of the policy are applicable to all three zones.
The urban policy will also be applicable under the jurisdiction of urban area development authorities and development authorities under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Act.
