The first phase of the polio campaign has started in some districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar. According to the Provincial Emergency Operation Center (EOC), in the first phase of this five-day campaign, which began on November 27, Bannu district, Peshawar, Mardan, Kohat, In all the districts of Malakand and Hazara division, 66 lakh 18 thousand 254 children up to five years of age will be vaccinated against polio.
According to the Provincial Emergency Operation Center (EOC), 31,392 teams of trained polio workers have been formed across the province for this anti-polio campaign, including 27,924 mobile teams, 1,958 fixed teams, 1,337 transit teams and 173 roaming teams. Apart from this, 6,956 area in-charges have also been appointed for the effective supervision of these teams so that all the children in these areas can be vaccinated against polio. Officials have also been appointed.
According to the Provincial Emergency Operations Center (EOC), during the second phase of the anti-polio campaign, which started from the first week of December, specific districts of South Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including Lakki Marwat, Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, North Waziristan, Lower South In Waziristan and Upper South Waziristan, 7 lakh 18 thousand 244 children up to five years of age will be given polio vaccine.
