Elected Member of Executive Board of Pakistan OPCW
Pakistan has been elected as a member of the Executive Board of the Organization Against Chemical Weapons (OPCW), while Russia has been expelled from the council.
The Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) meeting was held in The Hague in which Bangladesh, Iran, Malaysia and Pakistan from Asia, Algeria, Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa from Africa, Lithuania, Poland and Ukraine from Eastern Europe, Belgium, Denmark from Western Europe, Greece, Spain and New Zealand have been added to the Executive Board.
From the Latin American and Caribbean region, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador and Guatemala have also been elected as members of the Executive Council.
In the voting, 98 countries voted in favor of changing members, 8 opposed and 21 abstained. It should be noted that the member countries are elected for 2 years in this council consisting of 41 members
