The 52nd martyrdom day of Major Shabbir Sharif, who struck terror at the enemy, is being celebrated today.
Major Shabbir Sharif is the only person who was awarded Nishan Haider and Star of Courage.
Major Shabir Sharif Shaheed was born on April 28, 1947 in the town of Kunjah in Gujarat. Joined Pakistan Army in 1964 at the age of 21.
He was the elder brother of former Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and the nephew of Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed Nishan Haider.
Major Shabir Sharif Shaheed participated in the war of 1965 as a second lieutenant and bravely fought the enemy for which he was awarded the Star of Courage.
The Six FF Regiment under the command of Major Shabir Sharif crushed the enemys army at Head Sulaimanki.
He was martyred in December 1971, Major Shabir Sharif was buried in Mayani Sahib Cemetery Lahore.
