Peshawar wins Inter-Zonal Womens Cricket Championship
Peshawar Region has won the Inter-Zonal Womens Cricket Championship.
The women players appreciated the organization of the event by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Zaka Ashraf and said that matches should be held continuously for the promotion of womens cricket in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Inter-Zonal Womens Cricket Championship concluded at Shaheed Benazir Womens University.
Peshawar Womens Cricket Team won the trophy by defeating Bannu Region by 6 wickets in the final match.
The women players welcomed the holding of the championship and said that pcb chairman Zaka Ashrafs establishment of cricket academies at the university level is commendable.
In the championship, Bannu Region defeated Second and Mardan Region defeated Malakand Region by one run to finish third.
Eight womens cricket teams from across the province participated in the three-day championship.
Women players say that the establishment of cricket academies at the university level in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will not only bring new talent but also opportunities for women players to move forward
